Travel tips - week 6

Whatever your reason for travel, the trip starts at the airport and so this week we’re bringing you some tips on how to really relax and make the most of your time away.

Once the bags are checked in and you’ve got boarding passes at the ready, we’re sure you just want to get through security and put your feet up ahead of the flight. Manchester Airport offers a Fast Track security service that allows you to access a dedicated lane in security to speed up the process and give you more time to relax.

When you reach the departure lounge, there are a whole host of shops and restaurants across the airport’s three terminals, where you can while away the time before your flight tucking in to a range of delicious dishes, treating yourself in duty free and picking up last minute holiday essentials.

However, if you’re looking for a quiet place to really unwind, Manchester also has two dedicated lounges catering to all passengers’ needs.

The Escape Lounge is available in all three terminals and gives you the chance to put your feet up, catch up on last minute business, or simply enjoy some peace and quiet as you enjoy the complimentary food and drink on offer. With a family friendly area available, the Escape Lounge caters to passengers of all ages.

The 1903 Lounge is Manchester Airport’s adults-only, premium lounge located in Terminals One and Three. Offering fantastic views of the airfield, the lounges have their own team of chefs providing freshly cooked food and premium drinks. If you pre-book online, you also get a free Fast Track security pass.

Both lounges offer free Wi-Fi, printing, scanning, charging points, newspapers, magazines and TVs.

The airport is also investing in passengers’ future experience, with a £1bn transformation currently taking place. This will include state of the art facilities and a transformed departure hall, improving the entire airport experience. It will also see the launch of more than 30 new retail and food outlets when the Terminal Two extension opens next year, giving its passengers even more pre-flight options before they jet off.
