The key things you need to know about Manchester Airport this week – 30th September
As what would traditionally be a busy summer season at Manchester Airport draws to a close, the northern hub is sharing further updates and guidance with its passengers.
Some bars, restaurants and retailers have also changed their opening hours and practices, in line with new guidance issued by government.
Following the introduction of new government guidance last week on the sale of food and beverages, bars and restaurants and some retail units on our side are now required to close between 10pm and 5am. Food is available from WHSmiths and Boots during these hours, however, unfortunately this will not include hot food, hot drinks or alcohol.
All required units are now displaying the NHS Track and Trace App posters, offering guests a quick and easy way to use the service. As this is mandatory under government regulations, all units will request guests to scan the NHS poster or use their own track and trace App/service.
Free water fountains remain available in Terminals One and Three to fill up empty bottles.

Throughout the pandemic the airport has worked closely with its airlines and retailers to align its operations with passenger demand, to deliver the best possible customer experience.
To efficiently meet the current capacity and demand for travel, all flights are operating from Terminals One and Three at present. Flights which usually operate from Terminal Two will now be departing and arriving from Terminal One until further notice. Passengers are advised to check which terminal they’re flying from before arriving at the airport.
Passengers should be aware that they will now need to quarantine on return to the UK if travelling to destinations removed from the travel corridors list. They are reminded to check the latest Government guidance on travel corridors and requirements upon returning to the UK: www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-travel-corridors
In the past week, Denmark, Iceland, Curaçao and Slovakia have been removed from the travel corridors list.
Passengers should note that travel corridors are now being implemented in a more nuanced way. The new approach allows the Government to regionalise data and include or exclude certain islands or territories from the list – for instance, those returning from mainland Portugal are required to quarantine, but the Azores and Madeira are exempt.
It is also important to take account of the latest Foreign and Commonwealth Travel advice relating to any restrictions in your destination, available at https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice.
Some carriers might cancel services to destinations that are removed from the list, so passengers should check with their airline if they have any specific flight enquiries.
UK Government Passenger Locator Form
With the Government’s relaxation of quarantine, and introduction of travel corridors, all passengers arriving into Manchester Airport need to be ready for UK Border control by completing a Passenger Locator Form. Upon arrival they will need to show either a print-out of the form or have it on their phone. The airport continues to operate a range of safety measures to keep all passengers and staff safe.
