Blog: travel tips week seven

This week’s tips look at how to spend your time at Manchester Airport after you’ve passed through security if you’re not visiting one of the lounges.

One of the perks of flying is taking advantage of the duty-free prices. Manchester Airport has an extensive array of shops across all three terminals.

To make the most of your time in the terminal, did you know you can click and collect your favourite items from World Duty Free and Dixons. The Click and Collect service allows you to shop for all those holiday must-haves up to 30 days in advance of your trip, so you can be assured they’ll be ready and waiting for you at the airport - leaving you more time to relax before your flight or even do some more shopping!

If you only pass through the airport a few times a year, you’ll want to take advantage of the fantastic prices on perfume, chocolate, electronics and cosmetics. However, there’s always the problem of where to store these once you’re on holiday. The Collect on Return service allows you to select the products you want at the airport and then pick them up on your way home.

If you’ve had enough of shopping, why not relax in one of the many bars and restaurants in all three terminals. From grab and go sandwiches and fast food if you’re in a rush for the plane to full sit-down restaurants, there’s something for everyone. The majority of food outlets across the airport now offer Vegan and Vegetarian options.

If you download the Grab app, you can now order your meal in advance and collect it when you arrive. Whilst the Grain Loft in Terminal 1 is trialling ordering at your table, perfect for solo travellers so you don’t have to leave your luggage to order at the bar. Simply scan the code on your table using your phone to order.
