Blog: Scorching Summer Travel Inspiration

With over 220 long and short haul destinations served by more than 70 airlines, passengers have a fantastic choice when flying from Manchester, be that for business or leisure. If you’re struggling for holiday inspiration, we’re going to give some top tips to a few of our favourite spots to get you excited.

Bordeaux

easyJet has recently announced it’ll begin flying to this beautiful French city, and we couldn’t be happier. As a hub of the wine-growing region, this is the perfect location for a couples break with fantastic food, wine and architecture to explore. Take a stroll along the river Garonne, look into the Miroir d’Eau reflecting pool, and explore the Marché des Quais on a Sunday morning, with fantastic regional produce at the farmers’ market.

Palma de Mallorca

Always one of our most popular destinations, Palma has something for everyone. With little to no rainfall, and highs of over 30 degrees in August, make sure you take the suncream when visiting this scorching Spanish city. Surrounding the stunning Gothic Cathedral in the centre, there are medieval streets, teeming public squares, vibrant markets and an incredible array of restaurants. You could spend weeks exploring, but it’s also perfect for a city break, although expect to have a jam-packed itinerary!

Dubai

Looking for a destination a little further afield? Emirates fly three times a day from Manchester, making this luxury city very easy to get to. The Dubai skyline is iconic, and it is just as mesmerising when you step foot off the plane, with ultramodern architecture, an abundance of luxury shops, and a lively nightlife. Bathed in year-round sunshine, this is another of our most popular destinations.

Los Angeles

Manchester Airport is the sixth largest airport in Europe for passengers travelling to America, with 13 separate routes operating, so we had to include one of our fantastic American offerings in this holiday guide. Stroll along the Hollywood Boulevard looking for your favourite stars, hike through Griffith Park to the iconic Hollywood sign, and spend an action-packed say exploring Universal Studios. There is so much to do in LA, but it’s also the perfect place to spend the summer relaxing on beautiful beaches.

Malaga

The perfect spot for a family holiday, Malaga is another of our most popular destinations. August is a great time to visit, with the lively Malaga Fair taking place in the middle of the month with firework displays, concerts, and flamenco dancers. Whether you’re after a cool café, a traditional tavern, or a lively beach bar, Malaga has it all. Take a trip to the traditional fishing neighbourhood of Playa el Palo and spend the afternoon eating fresh seafood whilst the kids play on the beach.
