The Runway Visitor Park (RVP) at Manchester Airport is serving up a festive treat for guests, with turkey and all the trimmings served up under the second-fastest aircraft to take to the sky after Santa’s sleigh.

The dinner on Sunday 5th December will be set under the wings of the RVP’s magnificent Concorde Alpha Charlie, with diners given the chance to tour the iconic aircraft and witness its famous nose droop as a finishing flourish to the occasion.

Doors will open at 12:00 with guests receiving their choice of welcome drink from a glass of prosecco, a bottle of beer or soft drink.

Dinner will be served buffet-style, with vegan options available, and there will be a bar available to purchase drinks.

The afternoon will also feature live entertainment from The Sensational Soprano Gemma Ashley, and festive songs performed by Voices from Wilmslow High School. Sale Salvation Army will also be playing some Carols.

Robert Hassard, Manager of the Runway Visitor Park, said:

“After a difficult couple of years for the airport and our neighbouring communities, we are delighted to be able to bring people together once more to celebrate the festive season at the RVP.

“This will be a truly memorable occasion for diners, with fantastic performances and a unique setting to get them well and truly into the festive spirit.

“We expect this event to prove incredibly popular, so we encourage anyone who is interested to book now to avoid disappointment.”

Guests can book today through the Runway Visitor Park’s website at www.runwayvisitorpark.co.uk, by telephone on 0161 489 3932 or email concorde.enquiries@magairports.com.

About the RVP

A great day out for all the family, the Runway Visitor Park is one of the North West's most popular outdoor attractions. Adjacent to the busy runways of Manchester Airport, the park’s raised viewing area means guests can stand literally just a few metres away from the planes as they go past.

The park is also home to a variety of retired planes, including the spectacular supersonic airliner, Concorde G-BOAC; and former RAF military spy plane, Nimrod. There’s also a DC-10, Avro RJX and a retro Trident airliner, offering a glimpse of what flying was like in the 1960s and 1970s.

In addition to a large picnic area, there is also the RVP coffee house, a play area and The Aviation Shop, which stocks a range of plane-related souvenirs, suitable for children through to the more serious aircraft enthusiasts.
