Wythenshawe Travel Agent Bags £13,650 Mini From Manchester Airport

Lucky Travel Agent, Nicola Irving from Wythenshawe, Manchester, has beaten thousands of other people and won a MINI courtesy of Manchester Airport’s MAGnificent trade incentive.

The incentive has been live for the last year where agents across the country have been entering simply by booking a holiday or flight out of Manchester Airport. One booking equalled one entry. Nicola was then picked out of more than 14,000 other entries to claim the star prize.

Nicola Irving works for ATPI based in Wythenshawe, Manchester and during the incentive booked 28 flights out of Manchester Airport. Her name was picked by the airport’s coordinating chaplain George Lane, who officiated over the prize giving.

On winning the car Nicola said: “I am absolutely delighted to have won the car and thank everyone at Manchester Airport for my amazing prize.

“I have been booking flights out of Manchester for many years as it is such a great choice for passengers. As well as great destination choice for customers, it also offers a great experience for clients as they travel through, with lounges and great shops and dining options. It’s an airport where passengers can start their holiday as soon as they check in.”

On picking the winner, George Lane said: “I am so pleased for Nicola and I am sure she will enjoy her prize. We’d like to thank her for her commitment to Manchester Airport and all of the trips she has booked from the UK’s third largest airport.

“MAGnificent has proved to be very popular with travel agents looking at the amount of entries I had to pick from. It is just one example of the work the airport does to educate and engage with a range of stakeholders on our route network and offering.”

As well as the star prize, there were also other 160 prizes to win including 100 bottles of champagne and prizes from partners such as flights. Agents from Blue Bay Travel, STA Travel and Prestbury Travel bagged some of the smaller prizes.

MAGnificent has been running for three years with this year having the biggest ever prize. The incentive is a way of engaging with travel trade to promote the key routes and destinations on offer from the Northern global gateway. It will return this summer with even bigger prizes for travel agents to win.

Manchester Airport with more than 26 million passengers has over 210 destinations served by more than 70 airlines. With a catchment area spanning as north as Scotland, south to the West Midlands, west to Wales and east to Yorkshire, it continues to add passengers and international routes. In the last year alone it has added direct routes to the likes of Beijing, Houston, Los Angeles, Boston, Mauritius, Phuket, San Francisco and Boston. Manchester is the only UK airport outside of London to offer these routes.
