Easter Travel Advice: 160,000 Set To Depart This Easter Weekend From Manchester Airport

With Easter on the horizon, Manchester Airport starts to enter the busier summer season, which is set to be its busiest year on record.

More than 160,000 passengers will depart from the UK’s third busiest airport over the long weekend. The most popular destinations will be:

  • Tenerife
  • Amsterdam
  • Alicante
  • Dublin
  • Malaga
  • Dubai

As the airport is set to be busier, passengers are reminded to allow extra time to complete their airport journey. That includes getting to the airport, as roads can be busier over the Easter weekend, and getting through the airport itself. That means plenty of time for check in and security. Passengers can ease the security process by removing gloves, scarves, coats and belts before entering the security hall, and having all their liquids, gels and pastes less than 100ml and in a clear plastic bag. Plastic bags are available free of charge from the airport.

As well as being a busy Easter, the summer is set to be a bumper one at Manchester Airport with a host of new destinations launching. One of these being Seattle, by Thomas Cook Airlines, which makes Manchester the only airport in the UK outside of London to offer this direct route.

The UK’s global gateway in the North will also meet a major milestone this summer too, as in June it will turn 80.
